Kickstart Your Engineering Career

Applications are now open for ElectroNet Consulting’s 2025/26 summer internship program.

Running from mid-November 2025 to February 2026, our internship is designed for second- and third-year electrical/electronic engineering students who want to apply their learning to real projects that shape the future of energy in New Zealand.

You will work alongside experienced engineers on projects in distribution, transmission, generation, power system analysis, and electrical safety. You’ll gain hands-on experience in areas like modelling, testing, design, protection, and power quality, with full support from a dedicated mentor.

We have opportunities available in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

What we’re looking for:

We're looking for individuals with a strong passion for electrical design, and who are currently pursuing a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (in their second or third year). As a motivated individual, you'll be eager to advance your career and make valuable contributions to our innovative and collaborative team. Ideal candidates will possess the following qualities: 

  • Proactive and able to take initiative 
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Analytical thinking combined with a touch of creativity 
  • Open to feedback and easy to work with
  • A curiosity about power systems and renewable generation
